Position: Code/Nuisance Enforcement Officer 

The City of Bixby is seeking applicants for the position of Code/Nuisance Enforcement Officer; starting salary is $35,000.00, plus benefits. Applicants must have high school diploma or GED, a valid Oklahoma State Driver’s License, be 21 years of age and pass required background checks as well as a drug screening. Applicants may not have any felony arrests or convictions, domestic violence arrests or convictions, or DUI convictions or arrest. Applications available at City Hall located at 116 W. Non-Commissioned Employee

Starting Salary is $27,996.80 plus Competitive Benefits Package
Applicants must have High School Diploma or GED
Must pass background investigation

Non-Commissioned Employee Benefits include but no limited to:

  • Life Insurance in the amount of $20,000 paid for employee with additional coverage available on employee and dependents;
  • Vision, Injury, Cancer, Hospitalization, and Critical Care Coverage available for employee and dependents;
  • Retirement is through OPERS (Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System), the employee contributes 3.5% bi-weekly and the City contributes 16.5%
  • EDUCATION: The City offers various training classes and seminars at no cost to the employee
  • College reimbursement up to 50% of tuition costs with and annual limit up to $1,500.
  • HOLIDAYS: The City offers 12 paid Holidays
  • VACATION:Upon completion of 1 year of full-time employment employees will receive 10 days of vacation (2 wks). 8-12 years of full-time employment employee will receive 15 working days vacation (3 wks). 13-14 years of full-time employment employee will receive 20 working days vacation (4 wks). Over 15 years of full-time employment employee will receive 25 working days vacation (5 wks)
  • SICK LEAVE: After 30 days of full-time employment employees accrue 1 day (8 hrs) sick leave per month.

Non-Commissioned Employee Testing Process

Commissioned Officer (Police Officer)

Starting Salary is $36,882 plus Competitive Benefits Package
Applicants must have 60 credit hours from an accredited college
Pass a written exam,. physical fitness test, oral board, MMPI and criminal background investigation.

Commissioned Officer Benefit Package include but not limited to:

  • Life Insurance in the amount of $20,000 paid for employee with additional coverage available on employee and dependents;

  • Retirement through the OPPRS . Employees are vested at 10 years of service and normal retirement is at 20 years of service;
  • Two (2) Weeks Paid Vacation, 12 Days Annual Sick Leave and Funeral leave;
  • 13 Paid Holidays Annually;
  • Periodic Overtime and/or Comp-time Available;
  • Take Home Patrol Vehicle Program;
  • Patrol Rifle Program;
  • Clothing Allowance of $650.00 annually;
  • Cleaning Allowance totaling $720.00 annually;
  • Education Incentive Based on Degree(s) held;
  • Continuing Education Compensation Assistance;
  • Uniforms, Ballistic Vest, Service Pistol, certain Leather Gear and additional equipment issued upon hiring.
